You enter into marriage making a promise to “love, honor, and cherish” one another until “death us do part.”
If you’re here, it’s clear that you take your vows seriously. And so do we.
We believe most marriages can be saved if you are willing to put in the work.
You may be surprised to know that most traditional marriage counselors are not PRO marriage.
Instead, they are PRO individual.
If one person is not happy, and says they’re not in love with the other anymore, most counselors deem that marriage over – believing that the love cannot be rekindled.
We take a very different approach.
We approach every situation with the beliefs that:
We believe in the power of faith AND love. As long as there is faith, there is hope.
If a love that once shone brightly is now dimmed or “gone”, it stands to reason that it can shine again.
What if you want to save your marriage but your spouse has no interest?
Great question – come anyway!
We recommend you don’t beg and plead for your spouse to come (usually doesn’t work and definitely doesn’t help).
Instead, come by yourself and come ready to focus on what you can control – and that’s you.
We can teach you how to change your relationship – and potentially change your spouse’s attitude towards working on the relationship – simply by focusing on ‘your side of the street’.
Our rates are based on the length of the session and the counselor with whom you are working.
The first session for a couple will be a 90-minute session, whereas follow-up sessions may be scheduled for either 50 or 90-minutes.
Individual sessions are generally 50-minutes.
We also offer sessions with a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate at significantly reduced rates.
If cost is a concern, please reach out to discuss pricing in greater detail. We do our best to find an option that works for you.
The Marriage Place is an out-of-network provider, and currently does not accept insurance or participate in any Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
If you are unsure if you have out-of-network benefits, contact your insurance company and ask if your plan offers mental health benefits including counseling, and if so, at what reimbursement rate and do you need to meet a deductible first.
Many of our clients choose to file a reimbursement claim with their insurance company and receive reimbursement of up to 80% of session cost.
If you plan to file with your insurance, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with a receipt that includes the additional documentation required.
If you have an FSA card, we are also happy to accept it for payment.
This is a big decision. We understand that you may have some questions, or concerns about getting started with counseling. If so, we’d love to speak with you. Call us now to speak with a counselor coordinator.
If you’d like to meet with your Christian counselor in person, we have two locations available. If you prefer, we can meet with you by Zoom video.
